KitchenAid has added 30-inch and 36-inch induction cooktops to its Architect Series II line of appliances. Powered by electromagnetic energy, which generates almost instant heat, the new models feature nine level settings and a "performance boost" function that speeds boiling times. Pan size-detection technology automatically adjusts to focus heat only on the cooking vessel, and a hot-surface indicator light warns users of lingering heat after the burner has been turned off. The units' sophisticated frameless design, black finish, and beveled edges blend seamlessly with other products in the series. 800.334.6889; www.kitchenaid.com More
