The Arctic Series is not the manufacturer's typical Corian product. Calling it "the next evolution of surface translucency," the company has created five new offerings that are a combination of white and a tinted backdrop color that emits a ghostly glow when lit from underneath. Bamboo Countertops (ebuild)

The manufacturer has added three new renewable bamboo countertops to its collection of products: strand, end-grain strand, and traditional. Made with non-urea adhesive, the strand countertop products are 154 percent harder than red oak and each top is bacteria-resistant and formaldehyde-free. The manufacturer takes pre-consumer toilets, tubs, and sinks from Kohler and turns them into a new line of countertop product called EnviroMODE. Using the craft of terrazzo, the company combines epoxy resin or cementitious binder with the crushed porcelain chips to create a top that is free of volatile organic compounds. Stone Countertops (ebuild)

A relatively new product, Squak Mountain Stone is made from low-carbon cement, and post-consumer and post-industrial recycled paper and recycled glass. The resulting product has the industrial look of concrete or the rustic appearance of limestone or slate. Slabs come in five colors and measure 56 inches wide, 96 inches long, and 1 3/8 inches thick. Composite Surfacing (ebuild)

ECO by Cosentino is a new surfacing made from 75 percent recycled material, including salvaged mirrors and window glass, recycled consumer glass, porcelain, and industrial furnace ash. The recycled content is mixed with 25 percent stone scrap and bonded with a resin made in part from corn oil and resin. Corian Arctic Series translucent countertops allow more light to pass through than other Corian solid surface colors. Available in a 1/2-inch thickness, the countertops can be used to enhance or reduce translucency, depending on the strength and color of the light source used, says the firm.
