The manufacturer claims the deck boards are resistant to rotting, staining, and fading, largely because of the recent addition of a top layer of virgin polypropylene--about 1 percent of the board--to shield it from moisture and protect it from weather and wear. - The maker recently announced that it's Azek Porch product joins Azek Deck on the list of products tested and classified by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) for use in California's Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) fire zones. WUI testing goes beyond that for standard A, B, or C fire ratings. Updated tests were created to reduce the speed and spread of fires from burning embers carried by winds that land on roofs, decking, or other surfaces.
