- A Rhode Island company called KVH Industries has teamed with satellite television program provider DirecTV to bring 185 national channels plus local programming to the family wagon. Called TracVision A7, the technology was introduced in 2003 to bring DirecTV to vehicles. Local channels were added last year, spokesman Bob Ochsner said.

- The following recall has been announced:About 9,900 "Verge" flat-panel television tilt-mount brackets, imported by Circuit City Stores Inc., because the lock bar on the brackets could unfasten when an upward force is put on the attached television, causing the television to fall. The brackets are sold under the "Verge" label and have model numbers VPSW103M or VPSW103M2.

The TracVision A7 Mobile Satellite TV System, from DIRECTV and KLH Industries, was demonstrated Wednesday in Albuquerque by product spokesman Bob Ochsner. He had a Cadillac Escalade fitted with small TV screens in headrests facing the rear passengers and a large screen mounted in the back of the vehicle for tailgate parties.

- Apr. 12--Products incorporating Tzero's high-speed wireless technology will be hitting store shelves this fall, the company and new partner Monster said. The chipmaker's technology is supposed to be compatible with other UWB products, but promises to offer USB's transmission rates at distances far greater than typical UWB antennas. Monster's kits will be among the first consumer devices that incorporate Tzero's technology.

- TOKYO - Japanese electronics giant Sony Corp. plans to start selling small televisions this year using a screen technology that is a contender for the next-generation screen of flat-screen TVs, a company spokeswoman said Thursday.Sony plans to begin selling an 11-inch television using an organic electroluminescent screen by the year's end, spokeswoman Mami Imada said.Sony believes their product would be the first such television to come to market, Imada added.
