- Bryan Steam LLC has introduced the HE-RV Series of forced draft gas fired, "Flexible Water Tube" boilers. The HE-RV Series offers a guaranteed efficiency of 85 percent, with the high combustion efficiency resulting from a uniquely designed integrated surface heat extractor. These boilers features 7 sq. ft. of heating surface per boiler horsepower. They operate under normal operating temperatures, without needing to provide for the expense of complications of special venting and/or condensing material.

- Trane introduces the highest-efficiency packaged units available. The new Trane XL16c packaged units are ENERGY STAR qualified, rated as high as 16.6 Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER)--the highest in the industry--and have sound levels as low as 70 db, not much louder than a normal conversation. Trane backs the XL16c line with a 20-year limited warranty on the heat exchanger, 10 years on the compressor and condenser coil, and five years on functional parts.

The HD units come fully self-contained with an indirect fired heat exchanger designed to keep products of combustion and moisture separate from conditioned air and a process air blower to allow for single-point power and duct connections.

- REHAU announces the availability of its FIREPEX residential fire sprinkler system. FIREPEX combines all the benefits of a PEX-based system with the traditional installation techniques and configurations familiar to the fire sprinkler professional. Consisting of flexible RAUPEX cross linked polyethylene (PEXa) pipe, solid brass EVERLOC fittings and UL-listed residential sprinkler heads, this program meets the requirements for fire protection systems as defined by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standard 13D for "Installation of Sprinkler Systems in one-and-two family dwellings and manufactured homes."

- RIDGID is extending its pressing line of products with the new RIDGID ProPress Rings, allowing users to press connections in less accessible areas than with other existing jaw sets. ProPress Rings are available in six sizes: 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2" and 2". The RIDGID ProPress Rings have a swivel design with 180-degree rotation, allowing improved access in confined spaces or when working near ceilings or floors. Uponor ProPEX Auto Rotation Adapter Secures Connections, Eliminates Tube-turning by Hand- ebuild (11/26/2007)
- With the new ProPEX Auto Rotation Adapter from Uponor, Inc., installers no longer need to rotate the expander tool or the tubing itself by hand when making ProPEX connections on Wirsbo AQUAPEX tubing and Wirsbo hePEX plus tubing. The adapter automatically turns the expander head on each expansion of the tubing, eliminating the need for any manual rotation. The adapter is especially effective in tight spaces where manually turning the tubing or the tool is difficult.
