Menhir Range Hood

- Zephyr's Menhir very vertical vent hood was inspired by prehistoric monumental stones like Stonehenge, says the manufacturer. The 22-inch-wide stainless steel channel comes with a fan rated at 600 cubic feet per minute and recessed halogen lighting, plus a control ball that operates both. SunTouch introduces its Mat Kit

- SunTouch, a division of Watts Radiant, is introducing a SunTouch Mat kit. Each kit includes a SunTouch mat, a Programmable control, double-sided tape, a LoudMouth monitor, an installation manual and an installation DVD. Kits are available from 10 sq. ft to 80 sq. ft. in 120v. SunTouch mats are safe and easy to install. All mats have an "S-pattern" wire interwoven in a thin, open-weave construction. Thin-set or self-leveling mortar flows through the mat, allowing for a one-step application.

Heat Transfer Unveils SuperStor Contender Solar

- Heat Transfer recently unveiled the SuperStor Contender Solar, a new line of glass lined indirect water heaters, designed specifically for solar thermal applications. The new units store hot water from one or more solar collectors while also providing either electric or boiler backup for when the available solar power cannot meet hot-water demand. The units are eligible for a Federal tax credit when connected to one or more solar panels.

Rheem Launches Full Line of Eco-Friendly, Ultra Low NOx Residential Water Heaters

- Rheem Water Heating has unveiled a complete, 18-model lineup of ultra low NOx residential gas water heaters, featuring a newly developed and patented stainless steel radiant burner that slashes emissions to 10 nanograms per Joule, a 75 percent reduction from previous low NOx models. All of the new products fully comply with Southern California's SCAQMD (South Coast Air Quality Management District) Rule 1121, which limits the level of nitrogen-oxide (NOx) emissions by residential gas-fired water heaters.

Marley Releases Compact, Zero Clearance Heaters

- Marley Engineered Products has released a new series of compact freeze protection heaters under the Berko and Qmark brands. Rated at 2,500 W, Models PHFP25 and CHPR25 are designed for installation in concealed spaces including crawl spaces, plenum spaces, and areas between finished ceilings and drop ceilings. They include thermostat range of 40-90 degrees F; enclosed, permanently lubricated fan motors; and fan-delay feature, which eliminates cold-air circulation at start-up. Measuring 14 x 12 in., heaters are crafted from 18 ga steel and protected from corrosion by gray, polyester powder-coat finish.

Affordable SnowClear System by EverClear Radiant Systems

- The SnowClear System by EverClear Radiant Systems is a new trend in homebuilding. Most builders and consumers are unaware that ECRS has made snow melting technology an attainable upscale option. With prices starting at $4.75 per square foot a 630 square foot driveway (18' x 35') can be purchased and installed for around $4,000. Operating the system costs only a couple of dollars per hour and, if wired and switched to clear one driveway bay at a time, can use less than 50 amps of power.

- Rheem Sponsors New "Smartest Hot Water Use Award" in Annual NKBA Design Competition

- Rheem Water Heating will sponsor a new award to draw interest in a completely different product category in the 2008 NKBA Design Competition, hosted annually by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA). The new "Smartest Hot Water Use Award" is part of a three-year sponsorship agreement that Rheem Water Heating is announcing with the NKBA. Designers entering two of the competition's four bathroom-design categories - Large Bathrooms and Master Suite/Bathrooms - are invited to submit 100-word descriptions of the hot-water solutions they have devised to maximize both comfort and conservation in their bath projects.

Rheem Unveils Industry's First Tankless Water Heater Sizing Software

- Rheem Water Heating recently became the first industry manufacturer to offer computer software specifically intended for sizing tankless water heaters for residential and commercial installations. Based on the widely used CertiSpec3 software for Rheem-Ruud commercial water heaters, the new EZ-Spec(tm) tankless software application is now available for download at www.rheemtankless.com in the "Products" menu.
