- Roseburg Forest Products announced today the company would begin producing a solid sawn flanged RFPI® Joist at its Riddle, Oregon engineered wood products plant. Roseburg is making the product available through its distribution partners nationwide beginning August 1, 2008.

- Because it is engineered to accept flexural loads, 0.8E Durastrand Rimboard oriented strand lumber can be used for most short-span headers up to 9 feet, the maker says, eliminating the need for the builder to install a separate component. The 1-1/4-inch-thick rimboard comes in depths up to 24 inches and lengths up to 24 feet. The rimboard is manufactured from CSA-certified forests; many of the company's other products are manufactured from SFI-, FSC-, and CSA-certified forests. 877-661-3200.

- Boise Engineered Wood Products has announced the completion of major expansions of its engineered wood products manufacturing plants begun in 2005. To meet increasing demand, Boise has virtually doubled the capacity at its huge Alexandria, Louisiana, plant and significantly increased its White City, Oregon, plant capacity. With the expansions, both plants are operating at greatly expanded production levels.

- Boise Engineered Wood Products is continuing to install SawTek automated cutting systems across the United States to help its dealers achieve faster, safer, more accurate processing of Boise BCI Joists, Versa-Stud laminated veneer framing lumber and Versa-Lam laminated veneer lumber. SawTek systems are fast and accurate, typically cutting up to 30,000 lineal feet in an 8-hour shift with accuracy to 1/16".

- Boise Engineered Wood Products has announced Boise Plans Room, a management tool to be used by building material retailers and homebuilders to streamline the processes of planning and building homes.
