  • DaimlerChrysler expands to the commercial chassis cab segment with the introduction of the all-new 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab. Supported by a supplementary $48 million capital investment, the all-new 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Chassis Cab will be built at Chrysler Group's Saltillo Assembly Plant in Coahuila, Mexico. The plant is being expanded by 120,000 square feet for commercial vehicle production and will accommodate new frame configurations.

Ford Clean Diesel Technology will debut on the 2008 Super Duty F-Series, making it the cleanest, quietest diesel ever offered by Ford in a pickup. In addition to the clean diesel technology, additional innovations selected for Henry Ford Technology Awards this year include: Collision warning and mitigation by braking technology used on the new Volvo S80 and Ford S-max sold in Europe.

  • DETROIT - General Motors Corp. on Wednesday unveiled two redesigned pickups, which the automaker plans to speed to showrooms ahead of their scheduled debuts as it rushes to generate cash and show investors its turnaround plan is working.Light-duty models now are scheduled to go on sale in the fall, while heavy- duty models will hit showrooms in the winter.Though sales of trucks have slumped this year, they continue to be a key part of the lineup for U.S. automakers.
