Woodharbor Expands Exterior Door Options with Wrought Iron and Plank Groove

June, 2009 -- Woodharbor Doors & Cabinetry has added handcrafted decorative wrought iron accessories to its line of Woodharbor Premium Custom Exterior Doors. "We're seeing a trend in wrought iron in the market," says Tina Piper, ASID, designer for Woodharbor Doors & Cabinetry. "This option allows interior designers and architects to respond with unlimited creative possibilities."

"Our wrought iron accessories are true hand-forged, made in the USA," says Piper. This focus on handcrafting and buying USA-made product is in contrast to some of the iron accessories on the market today, which originate overseas and are not true hand-forged wrought iron. Woodharbor is partnering with a custom wrought iron artisan to bring quality, exquisitely handcrafted works of art as an option for customers who favor a Southwest style for their home. "Our iron supplier is very hands-on," she says. "Each authentic piece is made individually."

In conjunction with the wrought iron introduction, Woodharbor is offering a new plank groove option as a modification for Woodharbor raised panel configurations in all exterior door wood species and finishes. "The plank groove option is compatible with a wide range of architectural styles and a natural complement to decorative wrought iron," says Piper.

Woodharbor's wrought iron selection ranges from handcrafted basic functional designs to elaborate reproductions. Decorative categories include Clavos & Clavos Plates, Door Straps, Speakeasy Doors and Grills and Entry Door Grills. Finish options include oil rubbed, bronze and rust, with other finishes available upon request. While the wrought iron supplier worked closely with Woodharbor to provide a creative lineup of hardware accessories, the company specializes in custom design. "If a customer comes into a Woodharbor showroom with a picture or drawing of the wrought iron design they want, our dealer is able to tell them 'yes,'" explains Piper. She believes the multiple design levels of the wrought iron hardware will be popular with architects and interior designers, enabling them to choose from a wide selection of options or create their own design.
