Introducing Schluter-KERDI-SEAL-PS and -MVThe Newest Members of the Schluter-Shower System

July, 2009 -- Schluter-Systems introduces the newest members of the Schluter®-Shower System: Schluter®-KERDI-SEAL-PS and -MV prefabricated seals are sections of the Schluter®-KERDI waterproofing membrane with overmolded rubber gaskets. KERDI-SEAL-PS is designed to seal pipe protrusions through the KERDI waterproofing membrane. KERDI-SEAL-MV protects moisture-sensitive solid backing panels at the mixing valve.

The Schluter®-Shower System is a bonded waterproofing system for tiled showers, steam showers, and bathtub surrounds. It is an integrated family of products that creates a sealed system to eliminate leaks and reduce the potential for efflorescence and mold growth. Schluter®-KERDI-SEAL-PS and -MV complement the Schluter®-Shower System by providing reliable solutions to address typical protrusions through the KERDI membrane, such as showerheads, tub spouts, steam inlets, and mixing valves.

Schluter Systems' KERDI-SEAL-MV Prefabricated Seal

Schluter®-KERDI-SEAL-PS and -MV eliminate the use of sealant at specified protrusions for clean and simple application. Another unique feature of Schluter®-KERDI-SEAL is that the membrane is half the thickness of Schluter®-KERDI (4 mil) to limit buildup behind the tile.

Schluter®-KERDI-SEAL-PS is available with a pipe nipple opening diameter of ½" (12.5 mm) and ¾" (20mm) and Schluter®-KERDI-SEAL-MV is available with a mixing valve opening diameter of 4-½" (114mm).
