Juniper doors utilize "throwaway" juniper trees, an invasive, water-hogging species that is subject to government removal programs in areas where it is endangering forests and wildlife habitat. The interior and exterior doors feature swirling grain patterns and knots, along with a rich color ranging from light to a deep cinnamon brown; cracks and splits further the material's rustic feel. The doors come in several designs and finishes, including the chappo finish shown here, and can be specified with distressing, hammering, and blackened antiquing. 800-535-3936. www.jeld-wen.com.
