Art For Everyday Inc Wins Back to Back Platinum ADEX Awards Unique Column Configuration Earns Top Ranking in Design Awards

April, 2009 – ADEX, the largest and most prestigious awards program for product design of furniture, fixtures and finishes marketed to the design trade just announced another Platinum Award for Art For Everyday Inc.™ (AFE), a leading manufacturer of architectural woodcarvings. This 2009 award for a unique column configuration – the ISL-CRI 2 – follows last year's Platinum award for a distinctively designed Beaux Art corbel, both from AFE's Modern Classic Collection.

The ADEX Awards receive thousands of submissions in multiple categories, and the number of companies entered in this year's awards program increased by more than 22 per cent. Noted in an announcement from John Moses, Publisher of DESIGN JOURNAL, the contest was the most competitive to date, with each company entering on average more than four products into the competition.

The winning large column configuration is comprised of multiple components – a base, pilaster, middle cap, sub capital and capital. Each of these pieces draws design inspiration from different historical periods (Art Deco and Greek Revival for example) but blend perfectly to create a striking column. The column works with each element of the Modern Classic Collection of over 200 pieces, revealing endless possibilities for architectural enhancement in custom kitchens and other areas of the home. The mix and match concept allows designers to use these beautiful pieces individually or in combination to make their own signature designs.

Select pieces of the Modern Classic Collection can be viewed in Booth C2015 at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (K/BIS) held at the Georgia World Congress Centre in Atlanta, GA from May 1st to 3rd, 2009. The winning designs will also appear in the 2009 ADEX Winner's issue of Design Journal, the most read issue of the year for design professionals, as well as at www.designjournalmag.com and www.adexawards.com.
