Hansgrohe Talis C Bath Faucets Blend Artful Curves With Classic Styling and Modern, Water Saving BenefitsNew, comprehensive line of lav, bidet and tub faucets mixes traditional and minimalistic design features to create a highly distinctive look. Lav faucets use lower flow rates to deliver water savings of up to 40% over conventional faucets.
August, 2009 — Blending sleek surfaces and soft curves with distinctive traditional design elements, the new Talis® C faucets for lavs, bidets and tubs bring a classic elegance with a modern touch to the bathroom. All of the lav faucets in this extensive, new collection use EcoRight™ technology to limit flow rates to 1.35 or 1.5 gallons per minute (GPM) — a 30% to 40% savings over conventional faucets. Designers can combine these new faucets with Hansgrohe's Raindance® C showerheads, handshowers and bodysprays to create a coordinated look that delivers the latest in showering comfort and convenience while catering to individual tastes.
Romantic, yet minimalistic: Created by Hansgrohe's long-time collaborator, Phoenix Design of Stuttgart and Tokyo, Talis C mixes traditional styling with a romantic, yet minimalistic look that has generated a large and enthusiastic following among American designers and consumers in recent years.
For example, the single-hole lav faucets feature a slim, smooth, cylindrical design with a right-angle spout reminiscent of water fountains and hand pumps of an earlier era. Their tapered, bell-shaped bases convey solidity and stability, yet leave ample room for hand-washing beneath the prominent spout, whose robust design ends gracefully with a softly curved ring.
The romantic minimalism of Talis C finds full expression in the delicate contours of the lever handle that runs parallel to the spout below. But despite its slender dimensions, the handle still provides the user with a firm grip, while its Boltic lock prevents it from vibrating when turning the water on and off.
Like a mountain stream: New with the Talis C offering is a single-hole lav faucet with a flat open spout, designed to look like water flowing from a natural spring. "Our intent," explains Nicolas Grohe, Hansgrohe Director of Product Development and Marketing for North America, "was to give the consumer the opportunity to experience water in a pure, natural manner, as if he or she were washing in a mountain stream."
As always, there is a modern twist to this return to nature. Offering the largest water savings in the Talis C line, the Open Spout Single-Hole Faucet has a flow rate of only 1.35 GPM, nearly a full gallon under the current federal mandate of 2.2 GPM.

- Widespread Lav Faucet, with a flow rate of 1.5 gallons per minute (GPM), representing a 30% water savings over conventional faucets;
- Single-Hole Bidet Faucet, with a flow rate of 2.2 GPM and a swivel aerator;
- Two-Hole Thermostatic Tub Filler, which combines temperature control and volume control in a single device;
- Three-Hole Thermostatic Tub Filler, which not only melds temperature control and volume controls, but also includes a Raindance C 100 AIR 3-Jet Handshower with a flow rate of 2.5 GPM;
- Three-Hole Roman Tub Set, with a flow rate of up to 10 GPM with a water pressure of 44 pounds per square inch (psi);
- Four-Hole Roman Tub Set, again with a flow rate of up to 10 GPM, but also including a Raindance C 100 AIR 3-Jet Handshower.
All Talis C faucets feature solid brass construction and the Quiclean® cleaning system, which allows mineral deposits to be removed from the aerator in the spout with just a flick of the finger. The lav and bidet models incorporate either an M2 or a 90° ceramic cartridge, designed to provide consistently superior performance over many years.
Four finishes: The entire Talis C line is available in four finishes: Hansgrohe's new rubbed bronze finish as well as brushed nickel, oil rub bronze and chrome.
- The rub bronze look, introduced earlier this year by Hansgrohe, is a special lacquer finish that is darker than oil rubbed bronze. The hand-brushing used to apply the finish reveals bronze and copper tones, thus creating the appearance of a more aged piece — an excellent complement to the romantic, traditional look of Talis C.
- The brushed nickel and oil rub bronze finishes are created through a PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) process that bonds to the fitting on a molecular level, creating a thin, but highly impervious layer of long-lasting protection.
