Sensys: New Hinge With Integrated Silent SystemFunctionality With Emotional Appeal for the Most Discerning of Demands
May, 2009 -- Silent System soft-closure hidden in the hinge makes for elegant design and astonishingly gentle action: perfect for kitchens that want to be just as beautiful inside as they are on the outside. The new Sensys hinge generation from Hettich combines a consistently stylish design thread with an emotionally appealing feel of luxury. The outcome is convenience for lifestyle kitchen users.
Having to fit an optional element on the hinge, or retro-fitting it within the cabinet, has always had the drawback of being visible. It has also involved additional work in production or during assembly on site. This is no longer the case: The new Sensys hinge with integrated Silent System conceals the working components so that the kitchen user is left with only the feel of luxurious softened closure. In addition, the furniture door closes automatically from an unusually wide angle. Moreover, gentle closing action as well as the reliable closure of furniture doors at a flick of the wrist appeals to the kitchen user's emotions.

Hettich's Sensys Hinge
Sensys not only features the invisibly integrated Silent System but also comes in a new and elegant design. This includes a stylish cover cap for the hinge arm, which can accept a logo, as well as a cover cap for the hinge cup. The release button for removing the hinge cannot be seen from the front. In combination, the hinge and cross mounting plate produce a well-balanced unit. Meanwhile, the linear mounting plate provides adequate functionality for design purists.
The narrow visible 4 mm reveal, also with sharp-edged furniture doors in thicknesses up to 22 mm, is shown to be just as advantageous to the kitchen manufacturer as is the shallow cup depth. Using the ergonomic release facility, with which release button and hinge arm move evenly, the hinge is just as easy to remove as it is to fit.
Sensys is available for all of the main door mounting options in the kitchen. This includes 110° hinges for overlay and inset doors as well as for half overlay applications. Then there are wide-angle hinges for overlay and half overlay doors, W 30 and W 45 hinges for overlay and inset doors as well as W 90 hinges for inset doors. The hinge can also be used on aluminium-frame doors.
