Trend Introduces New Lock Jig for Large Mortise Locks

October, 2009 -- Trend Routing Technology has introduced a new Large Lock Jig that is designed to rout the faceplate and mortise for large locks such as Baldwin and other top brands. "Upscale contractors told us that the Trend lock jig system is ideal for adding mortise locks to doors," stated Miles Davey, Technical Manager of Trend Routing Technology. Davey continued, "While contractors admire the design and function of the Trend lock jig, many professional lock installers told us that they were not able to utilize the Trend lock jig for large mortise locks. They told us to make a large lock jig that can also be utilized for smaller mortise locks and that is exactly what we did."

The Trend Large Lock Jig comes equipped with two large mortise templates and two large face- plate templates for Baldwin locks. It also includes a long 1/2" shank long straight bit, guide bushing and guide bushing collar and a unique template adaptor. "The template adaptor allows the dedicated lock installer to utilize the large jig with standard templates that were only usable with the standard lock jig in the past. The Trend Large Lock Jig will allow contractors to invest in one routing jig for a majority of their mortise lock installations," stated Davey.

Available accessories include: a Corner Chisel for squaring corners on hinge recesses, individual templates for specific lock sizes, and a 24" carrying case for many of the Trend door hanging accessories.
