New Versatex PVC Stealth Skirt Board is a Smart Start to Any Siding JobInstallers can Begin on the Ground or on Masonry with This Specially Tapered PVC Starter Strip/Frieze Board
October, 2009 -- Versatex® introduces the new PVC Stealth Skirt Board—a multi-purpose frieze board or starter strip that is engineered to help all types of sidings to meet ground clearance codes and stand up to tough weather extremes.
The new 5/4" thick plank features an angled top ridge for the first course of fiber cement or composite siding to rest upon. This tapered edge also allows water to run off. And because the skirt board is made from low-maintenance PVC, it can come into direct contact with the ground or masonry with no ill effects.

Stealth Skirt Board comes in 5/4" x 6" and 5/4" x 8" widths and in 18' lengths, and is available in a smooth matte finish or with Timber Ridge woodgrained finish, designed to match most fiber cement sidings.
"Many building officials are finding that fiber cement and composite sidings are being installed incorrectly–all the way to the ground or the slab where the siding can wick moisture," says Rick Kapres, VP of Sales and Marketing. "The Stealth Skirt Board, because it is PVC and impervious to moisture, addresses this key issue while at the same time adding style to the home."
