October, 2009 -- DuPont Building Innovations launches DuPont™ RoofLiner, a lightweight, premium synthetic roofing underlayment scientifically engineered to provide excellent protection against leaks — further demonstrating its commitment to providing innovative weatherization solutions for the building industry. This next generation DuPont roof underlayment offers a Class A Fire Rating, a limited 30-year product warranty and enhanced durability and tear resistance.

DuPont™ RoofLiner is made with DuPont™ Elvaloy® AC copolymer, from the same family of DuPont polymers used in premium performance commercial roofing membranes. DuPont™ Elvaloy® is the brand leader with decades of proven performance in hundreds of millions of square feet of roofing worldwide.

This new product is engineered for use with all types of roof coverings identified by ICC-ES AC 48, section 3.0, such as asphalt shingles, clay, concrete, fiber cement or metal tiles, slates, wood shakes, standing seam metal sheets and corrugated metal roofing. DuPont™ RoofLiner has been approved for use under Florida building codes. It is designed for use on sloped (greater than or equal to 2:12) residential and commercial roofs, new construction and re-roofing applications.

The new DuPont™ RoofLiner offers enhanced performance over roofing felt including improved water hold-out and better resistance to mold growth.

Each roll of DuPont™ RoofLiner is 48 inches wide by 250 feet long, equivalent to about five rolls of 30-lb roofing felt. With 10 squares and 1,000 square feet in every roll, DuPont™ RoofLiner allows for maximum roof coverage and efficient installation making it easier to install than roofing felt. This new product requires fewer overlaps, seams and fasteners, which help reduce both labor and waste.
