Rockwell Introduces Two New Circular Saws Featuring BevelTrac

January, 2010–Measure twice cut once only works well when you know exactly where your saw blade meets the material. Most circular saws give you little better than a judgment call at 90° and 45° and leave you totally guessing at other angles.

Well this is the type of power tool problem Rockwell® industrial engineers love to solve. Introducing the new BevelTrac™ feature for Rockwell's latest generation of corded and cordless circular saws, including a 6-1/2 in. 18V LithiumTech™ Circular Saw with electric brake and 7-1/4 in. Circular Saw with electric brake.

BevelTrac helps line up the cut whether the user is making crosscuts or bevels. Most circular saw manufacturers just notch the shoe to ID the cutline, but Rockwell's design goes one step further so there's no guesswork on where the blade meets the work piece. The brilliant red indicator on the Rockwell saw's base shows the exact cut line every time at any bevel angle.

"You find with some circular saws that lining up the blade becomes an eyeball operation," said Jeanne White Rockwell's product manager. "With our new BevelTrack feature on Rockwell saws, the user can line up every cut with the same results without wasting time or materials."
