CertainTeed CertaPro Insulation Installed In New Shreveport Hilton Hotel

(Valley Forge, Pennsylvania) - One million square feet of CertainTeed Corporation"s CertaPro® Fiber Glass Batt Insulation is being installed in a beautiful, new 12-story Hilton Hotel in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The Shreveport Hilton, expected to open in March 2007, will be connected to the new 350,000 square-foot Shreveport Convention Center in the downtown district, which was completed earlier this year. The hotel and convention center are just two of the recent boons to the economy of Shreveport, one of Louisiana"s largest cities A combination of CertaPro R11 and R19 fiber glass batts, provided by Shreveport distributor Louisiana Materials, will insulate the exterior walls of the hotel"s 314 rooms. Drywall contractor Joe Banks Drywall, of Mangham, Louisiana, was hired to install the insulation. Randy Carter, project superintendent for Joe Banks Drywall has been impressed with the quality and easy installation of the CertaPro fiber glass batts.

"This insulation is great," he says. The friction fit installation of the batts is working well for us, and they"re holding together really well. Sometimes, fiber glass batts peel apart when you"re working with them, but the CertainTeed batts haven"t done that. We"ve had no problems with them."

Once installed, the CertaPro insulation will provide the Shreveport Hilton with excellent thermal and acoustical control for years to come, says Howard Deck, President of CertainTeed Insulation Group.
