Interior doors are divided into several categories on ebuild. They are Bifold Doors, French Doors, Louver Doors, Mirror Doors and Passage Doors.

Bifold doors are used for special applications and sold in pairs. The combined widths of the mating stiles of bifold doors - which meet at the center - are equal to the width of outer stile of each door. While bifold doors may be hinged only at the sides to swing outward, they are often installed with bifold hardware kits, which include pivot hinges for installation near the side jambs, leaf hinges to join the doors along the narrow stiles, and a top track that retains the doors as they fold together toward their back faces as they are pulled open from the center reveal. Bifolds are also a good choice for bypass sliding door applications. Bifold doors are often used on closets and for openings around which adjoining space is too scant to allow a full-width door to swing open comfortably.

French doors are characterized by their full-length glass inserts. They are usually installed in pairs and are suitable for dividing spaces when visual and auditory privacy are not an issue.

Louver doors are fitted with spaced vanes, or slats, that allow air circulation through the door. They are a good choice for humid environments and utility rooms where air circulation is desirable and sound-blocking is not essential.

Interior passage doors are designed for installation in openings between rooms inside a home. They are available in several different materials, including wood and hardboard, and may have solid or hollow cores.
