Cambria Introduces New Trends in Colors at the 2007 International Builders' ShowNatural Quartz Surfacing Manufacturer Unveils Four New Colors; Illustrates Cambria Can Be Used For Many Things Including The Kitchen Sink

MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL (October 16, 2006) - Cambria, the only producer of natural quartz surfaces in the United States, is previewing four new color options as well as showcasing a number of innovative new uses for its natural quartz surfacing at the International Builders Show, February 7-10, 2007 in Orlando.

"Natural quartz has really come into its own as a surface that works extremely well for kitchen countertops as well as unique applications like fireplace surrounds, showers, flooring - even the kitchen sink," said Nancy Dahl, Cambria's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Consumer Reports recently reported that quartz is the top performing countertop surface for durability and low maintenance. In addition, a recent survey conducted by Cambria found that consumers really "want it all" when it comes to their countertop surface.

"Our survey showed that consumers want countertops to be stylish, but also maintenance free and safe for food preparation," Dahl said. "Cambria meets and exceeds that criteria and can be used in many areas beyond the kitchen." Cambria is a stain-resistant, non-porous material that is elegant as well as practical because it is harder, stronger and easier to care for than many other natural stone surfaces like marble, granite or limestone. Cambria is also non-absorbent and certified by NSF International for food preparation - there is no safer surface available to consumers.

In addition, Cambria is leading the way as an environmentally sustainable product. Cambria was recently awarded the GreenGuard Indoor Air Quality Certification by the GreenGuard Environmental Institute. GreenGuard measures the impact that products have on indoor air quality.

"More and more consumers and builders are demanding "green" products in new construction and remodeling projects," said Dahl. "We are very proud of our new certification by GreenGuard and our reputation as being environmentally conscious in the methods that we use to produce our product."

Cambria will be showcasing several applications at the Show and will feature samples that illustrate how the product can be scored to look like tile or to incorporate a design, like a floral pattern or an inlay. Cambria also will be introducing four new colors during the Show. The color names were inspired by popular areas throughout the British Isles:

    • Sussex highlights hints of gray and blue on subdued hue of chocolate brown reminiscent of concrete but with a depth and character all its own
    • Dover offers a subtle, early tan color that is sleek, stylish and contemporary
    • Southampton showcases a bold mixture of fresh complementary colors found in nature - from black and gray to copper and sky blue
    • Hyde Park features natural gray and light green tones that are becoming extremely popular in contemporary settings.

The new colors complement the current array of colors already available by Cambria. Many of Cambria's most popular colors come from their exclusive Quarry Collection™ and continue to be a favorite among consumers because they capture the beauty of natural stone without the need for regular maintenance or sealing that many other surfaces require.
