Cambria Natural Quartz Surfaces Earns GREEBGUARD Certification for Products "Green" AttributesGREENGUARD Measures Cambria's Impact on Chemicals in the Indoor Air

MINNEAPOLIS (October 27, 2006) Cambria's natural quartz surfaces, the only domestically produced quartz surfaces, were recently GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified® by GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI). GEI verified that Cambria natural quartz surfaces do not emit harmful levels of chemicals into the environment.

"We have always been very proud of the sustainability of our product and this certification is another indication of our commitment to providing consumers with an environmentally friendly surface," said Nancy Dahl, Cambria's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Cambria is also one of the safest surfaces for food preparation because it is non-porous and does not require sealing with chemicals like granite, limestone and marble."

Cambria is a stain-resistant, non-porous surface that is harder, stronger and easier to care for than other countertop materials. Cambria also is certified by National Sanitation Foundation International for food preparation - there is no safer surface available to consumers.

Consumer Reports recently reported that quartz is the top performing countertop surface for durability and low maintenance. In addition, a recent survey conducted by Cambria found that consumers really "want it all" when it comes to their countertop surface.

"Our survey showed that consumers want countertops that are stylish, maintenance free, safe for food preparation and that are environmentally friendly," Dahl said. "We are proud to let our customers know that Cambria meets and exceeds that criteria and that it can now be used for surfaces throughout the house such as fireplace surrounds, showers, flooring, window sills and more."

Cambria's recent certification by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute will assist projects in qualifying for points under the United States Green Building Council's (USGBC) LEED® program.

In addition, because Cambria is the only producer of natural quartz surfaces in the United States, additional LEED points are available for any project within the 500-mile radius of its Minnesota manufacturing facility.
