KOHLER: With its New Tripoint TechnologyKOHLER Introduces the Next Generation of Reliable Touchless Sensor Faucets
KOHLER, Wis. - Nov. 15, 2006- The new Tripoint technology in KOHLER Touchless electronic faucets provides highly accurate, dependable performance and revolutionizes the standard of current commercial sensor faucets that utilize infrared sensors. It reduces false activation to a minimum because its sensors rely on distance as the primary trigger. Tripoint determines the true distance between the sensor and the object with a precise consistency similar to that of an auto-focus camera.
First-generation "hands-free" faucets equipped with existing infrared technology are notorious for their volatile performance. Inevitably, users can become irritated getting these electronic faucets to work at the desired times. This performance inconsistency occurs because traditional infrared technology is triggered by the amount of light that hits the sensor. Variations in background lighting, surface or clothing colors, and textures or reflections can cause the sensor to activate erroneously.
In addition to providing accurate, consistent performance, the Touchless electronic faucets from Kohler feature a high-temperature limit stop for safety and a temperature adjustment lever on the side of the faucet, allowing users to regulate the temperature. The lever can also be removed upon installation to deliver a pre-set mix of water. Featuring flexible supply hoses and above-the-deck electronics and valving, the hands-free faucets can be serviced from above, ensuring quick and easy maintenance.
There are currently two models of Touchless electronic faucets with Tripoint technology - a tall, sleek gooseneck faucet and a low-profile lavatory faucet. Both models are also ADA-compliant and demonstrate Kohler's commitment to developing reliable hands-free products that minimize excess flow and save water.
