DeWALT Launches Heavy- Duty 14 Inch 5.5 Max Motor HP Chop SawMost Powerful Chop Saw in Industry

November 2006 - DeWALT, a leading manufacturer of industrial power tools, announced the introduction of its new heavy-duty 14-inch 5.5 max motor horsepower chop saw with quick-change keyless blade change system (D28715). The D28715 offers end users increased power, more durability and increased productivity through innovation like quick-change.

The D28715 is equipped with a 15 amp, 5.5 max motor horsepower, making it the most powerful chop saw in the industry and providing end users with increased levels of power to complete various jobsite applications.

Quick-Change Keyless Blade System Increases Jobsite Productivity

DeWALT designed the D28715 with a large stamped steel base and pivot bracket for added durability to withstand jobsite abuse. The large stamped steel base also enables users to easily weld custom out-feed tables to the base of the tool to help support materials while they are being cut.

The 14-inch chop saw has the capacity to cut 4 1/2-inch x 4 1/2-inch square pipe, 4 1/2-inch x 6 1/2-inch rectangular pipe, full steel bundles and up to 5-inch round pipe. This capacity satisfies common jobsite and metal fabrication shop requirements.

For increased productivity, DeWALT designed the D28715 with a patent-pending, quick-change keyless blade system that allows for quick and easy blade changes without a wrench. A keyless quick-vise allows users to easily clamp and release materials, and a keyless Quick-Fence™ increases productivity by helping users make fast and accurate angle adjustments.

The new chop saw weighs only 39 pounds, providing easy transportation on the jobsite. A heavy-duty lock-down pin and an integrated carrying handle allow the user to quickly lock the head in the down position for easy and safe handling. An adjustable spark guard provides users with the ability to control the direction of sparks. Additionally, a horizontal "D" handle provides increased comfort.
