Nevertheless, many homeowners continue to favor a woodburning fireplace because a fixed glass panel does not separate them from the beauty of the fire. The new Heatilator® Reveal™ gas fireplace removes this aesthetic barrier by providing an open-hearth design with the efficiency and ease of gas operation.

Eliminating the sealed glass front, the Reveal's open-hearth design recreates a woodburning-like ambiance at the flip of a switch. It features clean face styling that allows finishing materials such as stone and brick to be brought up to the firebox edge for a classic masonry look. The Reveal also uses a multi-colored, stone-like refractory that is available in traditional or herringbone patterns. A full length pull screen accompanies the Reveal to help emulate the look of a traditional woodburning fireplace.

The Reveal is available in 36-inch and 42-inch models and employs a three-tiered burner to generate a full flame look. It offers 40,500-45,000 BTU/ hour input and uses an Intellifire® electronic ignition system, which eliminates the need for a standing pilot by providing on-demand ignition. This can reduce as much as half the gas used by a fireplace, over nine million Btu per year, by turning on and off the pilot light.
