Molten Rock

Designed for wall and flooring applications where durability and high-texture finishes are called for, the Sierra Negra lava stone collection is available in six dimensional finishes: corduroy, barbed, bush hammered, frisee, tassled, and flamed. The material can be used for interior or exterior surfaces, the company says. The tiles come in a large-format 18-inch-by-36-inch size and are 5/8 inch thick. Sierra Negra lava stone colors range from a uniform pale gray through solid charcoal to a variegated coloration. Coverings Etc. 305.757.6000. www.coveringsetc.com.

Two-in-One

Zip System three-component roof and wall sheathings are designed with built-in water and moisture barriers to eliminate housewrap and roofing underlayment. Seams between panels are sealed with the Zip System Tape using the system's tape gun.

The wall sheathing panels measure 4 feet by 8 feet and 7/16 inch thick and feature the Stormex water-resistant barrier. The barrier allows the wall system to breathe once installed and will not blow off or tear, the maker says. The panels install just like standard structural panels; a fastening guide offers guidance for horizontal and vertical installation.

Roof sheathing panels incorporate the Precipitek moisture barrier, a built-in underlayment and skid-resistant surface that, the maker says, protects against moisture penetration better than traditional roofing felt and provides a smoother surface to allow shingles to lay flat. The ½-inch-thick panels also offer a fastening guide. Huber Engineered Woods. 800.394.2675. www.huberwood.com/zip.
