Marblex Design International, Inc. To Be Featured In 2007 "Best of Cambria" Calendar
MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL (January 4, 2007) - Cambria, the only U.S. producer of natural quartz surfaces, is recognizing the most unique and innovative installations of its product in its "Best of Cambria" 2007 Contest. Winners of the national contest include Marblex Design International, Inc. of Fairfax, Virginia, which was chosen as its grand prize winner. Marblex Design International, Inc., will be featured as the cover photography in a calendar that includes 12 CambriaoftheMonth winners.
"While it was hard to choose from all of the entries, the 13 projects we included in the calendar were the very best including the Marblex Design International, Inc. project," said John Buenneke, Cambria Brand Manager. "The Marblex Design International, Inc. project was a masterpiece showcased in the National Symphony Orchestra Decorator's Show House."
Gracing the interior of the Show House in Washington, D.C., Cambria shines in the kitchen replete with exquisite detail. As the 2007 Best of Cambria cover winner, this project reflects innovation in both design and quality fabrication. Cambria's highly popular color, Victoria, is highlighted in intricate detail in the dual sink island. The integrated sliding cutting board application is not only functional but lends a luxurious aesthetic look and the custom edge profile complements the glazed cabinetry and oil rub bronze fixtures.
Cambria is a stainresistant, nonporous material that is stronger and easier to care for than other natural stone surfaces like marble, granite or limestone. Because Cambria is a nonabsorbent surface, it is certified by NSF International for food preparation - there is no safer surface available to consumers and is ideal for kitchens.
"We are honored to be named the Best of Cambria for 2007," said Mete Yilmaz, Marblex Design International, Inc. President and Founder. "Cambria's look, durability and the fact that it is maintenancefree made it the perfect choice for this magnificent project."
Marblex Design International, Inc. collaborated with kitchen designer Lois Kennedy of Portfolio Kitchens in this diverse kitchen focusing on intricate details. The Victoria Cambria covered island features a cleanup/prep area with elaborate edge profiles and the creative integrated drain board. The calendar includes several innovative applications of Cambria including a shower surround, tub surround and vanity in Georgia; a kitchen on a yacht in New York; The Viking Store in St. Louis, Missouri, and footballshaped tables in an executive suite at UT College in Tennessee.
