Intermatic Offers InTouch System to Model Homes

  • By Brad Grimes

Intermatic, a leading manufacturer of lighting control products, rolled out a program at the International Builders' Show for model homes to include its forthcoming line of InTouch wireless controls.

Developments with at least 25 homes starting at $250,000 can take part in Intermatic's Model Home Program and receive a free basic kit of InTouch controls. The kit includes one handheld remote with an Intermatic Smartbase, four wall dimmer switches, one wall switch, one split-duplex receptacle, and one multibutton scene controller.

In addition to the kit, builders in the model home program receive sales literature and a discount on additional hardware.

InTouch controls are based on Z-Wave wireless technology. Company officials said the product just went into production and should be in the channel next month.

"Because these products all use wireless control, they can be installed using standard wiring, allowing builders to upgrade homes already in their inventory," said Jeff Bovee, commercial marketing manager for Intermatic.

The company also began a Parade Home Program for developments with homes starting at $250,000. The program calls for discounted products and sales tools.
