KitchenAid Takes Outdoor Entertaining to Next Level

ORLANDO (February 7, 2007) - KitchenAid, long known for its high performance kitchen appliances, has updated its outdoor collection to include thoughtful new features, revamped styling and added built-in options, all designed to make outdoor entertaining easier and more enjoyable. The new line, available in the third quarter, includes such additions as warming drawers, pull-out tank access on freestanding grills, and built-in trash and utility drawers for cooking islands.

"The line between indoor and outdoor living spaces is becoming more and more blurred," notes Brian Maynard, KitchenAid Brand Marketing Director. "Our goal in developing this collection was, quite simply, to help minimize trips back to the kitchen and maximize the enjoyment of outdoor gatherings."

New features in the line include an electric warming drawer with a unique slow cook function that can be used to slow cook side dishes or help keep cooked food warm. The new warming drawers are available on 48- and 36-inch size freestanding grill models or in a built-in option. Built-in thermometers on all grill models easily gauge internal grill temperatures without raising the lid. Other enhancements include a new pull-out tank access on freestanding grills for easier installation of propane tanks; interior halogen lights on all models for easier viewing of food when grilling after dark; and new commercial-style handles and knobs on all grill models.

All grills feature the Even-Heat™ system with 22,500 BTU stainless steel burners, angled sear plates and denser grate patterns for consistent heat over the entire grill surface. For slow roasting, all models include either double, 10,000 BTU infrared rotisserie burners or a single 15,000 BTU infrared rotisserie burner.

The complete KitchenAid outdoor collection includes 27-, 36- and 48-inch freestanding and built-in grills; a refrigerator, ice maker and serving cart; built-in warming drawer with a slow cook function, trash and utility drawers; and freestanding and built-in refreshment centers. Accessories include access doors for built-in grills; built-in double side burners with either side-by-side or front-to-back configurations; infrared side burners; a smoker box; and a rotisserie kit.

Since the introduction of its legendary stand mixer in 1919 and first dishwasher in 1949, KitchenAid has built on the legacy of these icons to create a complete line of products designed for cooks. From countertop appliances to cookware, ranges to refrigerators, and whisks to wine cellars, KitchenAid now offers virtually every essential for the well-equipped kitchen.
