Quieter, Stronger Disposers from KitchenAid

ORLANDO (February 7, 2007) - KitchenAid, the brand that offers virtually everything for the kitchen, including the sink, is introducing new food waste disposers that can grind almost any food while operating up to 60% quieter compared to standard disposers. The new disposers will be available in the second quarter.

Innovative sensing technology virtually eliminates jamming

"Disposers are an incredibly practical tool for keeping things tidy while cooking and speeding up the clean-up process," notes Brian Maynard, KitchenAid Brand Marketing Director. "By making them quieter and stronger, we expect these models will get even more use."

New grinding technology can handle almost any food waste, from celery and potato peels to corn cobs and rib bones. Advanced sound insulation and anti-vibration components provide quieter operation. Innovative sensing technology virtually eliminates jamming of the grinding mechanism.

The new disposers will be available in three models with batch and continuous feed options and the choice of two or three grind stages. All feature a 40-ounce stainless steel chamber with stainless steel grinding components, and sink flanges and stoppers that can be color coordinated to match sinks. Color options for the flanges and stoppers include polished stainless steel, polished brass, white and biscuit.

Since the introduction of its legendary stand mixer in 1919 and first dishwasher in 1949, KitchenAid has built on the legacy of these icons to create a complete line of products designed for cooks. From countertop appliances to cookware, ranges to refrigerators, and whisks to wine cellars, KitchenAid now offers virtually every essential for the well-equipped kitchen.
