Leviton Residential Intercom System Improves Communication and Security throughout the HomeStylish Design Complements Any Home Decor; Modular Components Install Easily
Orlando, FL, February 7, 2006--Leviton Manufacturing Company has expanded its line of home networking products with a stylish Residential Intercom System that coordinates with any contemporary decor. Designed for Leviton residential structured wiring installations, the modular, feature-rich system provides basic intercom and paging functions and easily interfaces with the home's telephone, audio, video, surveillance and lighting systems for added convenience and security.

Stylish Design Complements Any Home Decor; Modular Components Install Easily
The Intercom System consists of a Main Controller Board, Outdoor and Indoor Stations, Interface Board, Door Chime and Door Strike Modules that easily install in any Leviton Structured Media System. This eliminates the need for installing a large, in-wall intercom console. A major advantage of the Leviton system is that it uses standard telephones for the indoor user interface. For streamlined installation, the Main Controller Board, Outdoor Station and Interface Board are packaged as a standalone kit.
Leviton's Residential Intercom System uses Cat5/5e wiring to transmit voice signals throughout the home and outside entry points. Outdoor Stations function as an alternative to standard doorbells and readily install in double-gang wall boxes by the front and rear entrances. Indoor stations can be mounted in convenient locations to facilitate communication with the home's telephones. This lets homeowners screen visitors by phone instead of walking to the front or back door to identify them. An optional lighting control interface can automatically switch on outdoor lighting, illuminating pathways and entryways for visitors, while allowing the homeowner to see who is outside at night. The system's integrated dry contacts provide a security alert in response to motion, pressure or gate sensors. In addition, a homeowner can dial up intercom stations and monitor zones throughout the home for suspicious sounds.
The Residential Intercom System makes communication between household members easy since no one is ever more than a page a way. The system is ideal for hearing-impaired homeowners since its lighting interface can provide a visible alert by activating the lighting when visitors come to call. The system supports up to 12 wall stations and control of up to four zones. A handy call-on-hold feature enables homeowners to transfer intercom and phone calls from one location to another, while offering the caller music-on-hold. The system's stylish minimalist design complements any interior dècor.
Leviton's Residential Intercom System represents an extremely affordable upgrade for production builders and an easy, modular installation for contractors. For more information contact Leviton Manufacturing Co., 59-25 Little Neck Parkway, Little Neck, NY 11362-2591, or visit www.leviton.com.
