ARCUS develops new, curved circular saw blade {patent pending} and guide system.Patent Pending ARCUS Blade
Louisville, KY - When it comes to taking matters into her own hands, Barbara Robinson is an expert. She has developed a new concept of cutting smooth edged circles or arcs in wood, plastic, composite decking or fiberglass with one pass of a circular saw.

Patent Pending ARCUS Blade
Barbara needed a circular frame for one of her stained glass pieces she had designed. Her husband Jeff used a router, and she started thinking there must be a better way. Later that day, she showed her husband how a 7" curved rimless salad plate moves in a spiral circle when rotated on its side. Prototypes were made until one that would cut a precise circle, with clean edges. Since skill is needed keeping the circular saw on any line the compass-like guide was developed, so that even the novice could cut a perfect circle in seconds on the first try.
The curved blade can be used freehanded to make arch cuts with more than one radius, designs with curves and circle cuts from 30" to 30 feet plus. The contoured ARCUS™ Professional Circular Saw Blade is a 7 1/4" circular saw blade with 24 teeth, 3/16" cutting kerf allows the contoured blade threw the cut with ease, C-6 carbide tips and a 5/8" round arbor. The Anti Stick coating reduces friction so there is less gum up. The tempered blade is a full hardened body, yet maintains flexibility and fits most circular saws. The contoured ARCUS ™ Professional Circular Saw Blade may be purchased separately.
The ARCUS™ Saw Guide System will transform a circular saw into a perfect circle or arc cutting saw. The System includes a contoured designed ARCUS™ Professional Circular Saw Blade & ARCUS™ Guide that easily adjusts like a compass to make 30"; to 54"; diameter circle cuts and is faster and more precise than using the blade alone. For cutting larger arches and circles the ARCUS™ Professional Saw Guide is available in larger sizes. The ARCUS™ Guide is made of ridged 14 gauge tubular steel that is welded for durability and will not bend or flex and attaches to most circular saws.
Some typical applications are: Arches over doors or windows, round windows, spiral staircases, curved decks, trellises, arbors, curved furniture, round table tops in wood or plastic, boats, hobbyist projects, concrete molds and masonry forms, customizing, and specialty packaging just to name a few.
The results are: Material cost is down since you can get the cut without do over's. This ARCUS™ cutting method is efficient and results in smooth cuts that require little or no sanding reducing time and labor costs. In addition, tool cost is reduced in comparison to using conventional tools. Circle or arc cuts can be made at the jobsite instead of the fabricating shop.
