Entering into a partnership as the sole manufacturer of corrugated water conductors, he pioneered the development and production of what would become an American icon -- the round corrugated downspout, the forerunner of today's rain gutter systems. The fledgling company that manufactured these products was eventually incorporated as Benjamin P. Obdyke Incorporated.
