February 7, 2007 -- Horsham, PA -- Benjamin Obdyke Incorporated's Xtractor Vent® is a ridge vent specially designed to extract heat and moisture out of residential attics. The sectional, shingle-over ridge vent offers highly effective ventilation by providing continuous air flow along the attic ridge, the hottest part of the attic.

Xtractor Vent also optimizes roof protection with "sine-wave" shaped internal and external baffles that prevent rain, snow, and insect infiltration.

A member of Benjamin Obdyke's Ridge Ventilation family of products, Xtractor Vent is available in three versions: XLP, a low-profile ridge vent, specifically designed for fast nail gun installation; X18, which offers maximum ventilation -- 18 sq. in. of net free area per lin. ft.; and X18 Xtra, which offers the same features as X18, but includes an internal filter to provide extra protection in extreme weather areas.

Manufactured in 4 ft. sections, Xtractor Vent features a male/female connection between pieces to protect the seams from leaking, and drain holes every 4 in. in the exterior baffle to prevent water build up. Narrow, 1/8 in.-wide vent holes are designed to prevent insect infiltration. Each section of Xtractor Vent contains integrated end plugs located every foot to reduce scrap when splicing. An embossed nail line assures proper nail placement.

Xtractor Vent XLP measures 4 ft. long, 14 in. wide, and 5/8 in. thick, with l2.75 in.2 of net free area per linear ft. Both Xtractor Vent X18 and Xtractor Vent X18 Xtra measure 4 ft. long, 14 3/4 in. wide, and 13/16 in. thick, with a net free area of 18 in.2/lin. ft.

All three products come with Benjamin Obdyke's 40-Year Limited Warranty.

Xtractor Vent X18 and X18 Xtra have passed and received evaluation reports from Miami-Dade County and Texas Department of Insurance. Xtractor Vent XLP has passed and received evaluation reports from Miami-Dade County.
