Its tumbled edges and variegated surfaces suggest the look and feel of Indian slate, while the glass and metal accents created especially for the series evoke an Old World European charm in a fusion of style and texture that is at once modern and ancient.

Taking its inspiration from nature--and human nature--Chemistry's state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques include surface color that continues through the body of the tile and dry glazing, which creates the naturalistic veining and sense of unique "personality" from piece to piece.

Just as the science of chemistry deals with the transformations that substances undergo, Crossville's Chemistry incorporates such a wide range of hues and color tones (V-4 shade variation) within each palette that the possibilities for coordinating with other tile, carpeting, surface finishes and textiles are limitless. Chemistry's five distinctive colorways showcase a striking range of shades and tones, all working in harmony with each other and their surroundings. Colors include Zircon, a creamy white multicolor; Boron, an ivory/light gold mix; Argon, a noce multicolor; Krypton, a green/dark taupe multicolor; and Rubidium, a black multicolor.

Chemistry's five sizes--4" x 4", 4" x 8", 8" x 8", 12" x 12" and 16" x 16"--are 3/8" thick and modular. Trim includes a 4" x 8" Single Bullnose and a 4" x 4" Double Bullnose in each color.

Chemistry wasn't created merely as a new tile series, but as a complete design solution. Although it does coordinate beautifully with many items from Crossville's Accent Innovations™ line, the creative minds behind Chemistry's development felt such a compelling tile deserved accent pieces created specifically to enhance its unique beauty. The 1"x 8" glass liners and 2"x 2" dots in Selenium (green) and Radium (amber) infuse a soft glow, while the 1"x 8" half rounds and 2"x 2" dots in Zinc and Baroque Bronze impart the subtle sheen of aged metal.
