Elkay Sink Honored in 2006 "Best of the Year" Awards by Interior Design Magazine

OAK BROOK, IL - February 2007 - Elkay's Plumbing Products Division was the recipient of a Merit Award at Interior Design magazine's 2006 "Best of the Year" awards ceremony. Elkay's new Avado™ sink equipped with a center work surface was honored in the "Kitchen Fixtures and Plumbing" category. The award ceremony, held at New York's Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, was attended by 800 members of the international A&D community, including Bob Seeley, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Elkay, who accepted the Merit Award on behalf of Elkay.

This was Interior Design magazine's first-ever "Best of the Year" awards in which products were divided into 19 categories and voted on by editor-in-chief Cindy Allen and judges Arthur Casas, Pam Light, Nick Luzietti and Ali Tayar. After the product entries were reviewed and the finalists were chosen, winners were determined based on a popular online vote of industry professionals.

Elkay created the award-winning sink as a way to add even more style and functionality to its popular Avado™ collection. The Elkay sink features a stationary middle-integrated work area with a 10" wide, textured, "nail head" surface between two 10" deep sink bowls. This surface creates a useful new functionality for the sink by providing the perfect landing space for hot pots and pans, delicate glass or washed foods, as well as two separate work areas for the homeowner. The Avado center drainboard sink is 40" wide and 16" deep. "Elkay is honored to receive the 'Best of the Year' Merit Award and we appreciate the recognition of Elkay's ongoing commitment to developing innovative, quality products that provide solutions for homeowners' needs," noted Seeley.
