First-of-its-Kind FlowGuard Gold Bendable Piping System Eliminates Concern of CorrosionNew multi-layer composite pipe combines benefits of CPVC and aluminum; Represents easy-to-install, user-friendly and cost-effective alternative to soft copper

February 2007 - CLEVELAND - For contractors and builders looking for an easy-to-install, corrosion-resistant, cost-effective plumbing system under-slab, there is now a better alternative. From the inventors of the high-performance FlowGuard Gold® CPVC pipe and fittings compounds comes a new, patented, multi-layer CPVC/metal composite pipe known as FlowGuard Gold® Bendable.

There's nothing quite like it on the market today.

    FlowGuard Gold CPVC Piping

There's nothing quite like it on the market today. Innovative FlowGuard Gold Bendable composite pipe combines the corrosion-resistant benefits of CPVC with the flexibility and strength of aluminum in this one-of-a-kind, multi-layer pipe. Designed specifically for use under-slab, this new bendable piping system is approximately half the cost of type "L" copper.

FlowGuard Gold Bendable consists of an inner layer of CPVC, a middle layer of butt-welded aluminum and an outside layer of CPVC. All of the layers are bonded with an adhesive that has been proven by ASTM testing to withstand water temperatures up to 180 degrees F. Assembly of the pipe incorporates an internal bushing and the standard FlowGuard Gold CPVC fitting, along with the use of one-step solvent cement.

This kink-resistant system allows for long runs of potable water pipe to be bent and protrude through concrete with all joints made above grade. Its' excellent combination of flexibility and rigidity keeps the pipe workable, yet it stays in place. This unique combination results in reduced installation time which translates into a lower installed cost compared to other piping options.

Available in 1/2" and 3/4" coils, it offers a straight professional appearance and does not require special cutting tools. It has been proven suitable even for continuous recirculation, as its' long-term pressure performance is not affected by chlorine or other common water disinfectants. Nor is it adversely affected by UV exposure or age.

Backed by Noveon's nearly 50 years of experience in CPVC piping systems, FlowGuard Gold Bendable is also safe to use inasmuch as it will not sustain combustion; nor does it require an open flame for soldering during installation. As with superior FlowGuard Gold pipe, it is easily identified by its tan color and distinctive gold stripe.
