The New American Home and the Renewed American Home Both Feature FlowGuard Gold CPVC Plumbing SystemInternational Builders' Show official showcase home also features BlazeMaster CPVC Fire Sprinkler Systems

February 2007 - CLEVELAND - FlowGuard Gold® CPVC Pipe & Fittings has been selected as the exclusive plumbing system for both The New American Home® and The Renewed American Home™ -- the official showcase homes of the International Builders' Show. A primary goal of the annual New American Home program is to spotlight emerging trends that affect the housing industry, including architectural design, construction techniques, building materials, furnishings and merchandising. For the seventh year, a FlowGuard Gold CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) plumbing system was chosen over materials such as copper and other plumbing alternatives. Additionally, a BlazeMaster® CPVC fire sprinkler system, a sister product of FlowGuard Gold piping, was also installed in The New American Home.

FlowGuard Gold CPVC plumbing system is setting new standards in excellence.

With more than 45 years of proven reliability, a FlowGuard Gold CPVC plumbing system is setting new standards in excellence and durability for residential plumbing, offering a number of benefits over metallic systems. Primarily, the system will never pit, scale or corrode, which greatly eliminates the risk of leaks, premature failures and costly re-piping. Because FlowGuard Gold CPVC pipe and fittings use a one-step solvent joining system, they are also faster and easier to install. Without the need for torches on the jobsite of either home, the installation was safer than with a copper system. These same benefits hold true for BlazeMaster CPVC fire sprinkler systems.

The 2007 New American Home is located in downtown Orlando in the Lake Eola Heights Historic District. Being constructed on an urban in-fill site overlooking the lake, the three-story, "urban loft" home will consist of 8,585 square feet of indoor and outdoor living space, including a roof plaza. The home will set a distinctive stance in this historic neighborhood, which features a variety of architectural styles, including Craftsman, Mediterranean Revival, Colonial Revival and frame vernacular.

The Renewed American Home stands in contrast to its neighbor, The New American Home, by demonstrating what can be done to update an older home. Built in 1909, The Renewed American Home consists of 2,462 square feet and is being completely expanded and renovated. When complete, it will have four bedrooms, five-and-a-half baths and a library. A basement is being added, as well as a detached two-car garage and other spaces, for a total of 7,175 square feet under roof.
