Marvin Raises the Standard When It Comes to Casings and SubsillsMarvin expands standard offerings with nineteen new colors, seven new casings and four new subsills

WARROAD, Minn., Feb. 7, 2007 - Looks can be deceiving. Marvin Windows and Doors is significantly expanding its standard offerings by ushering in seven new clad casings and four news subsills that are factory-applied and highly customized to their customer's particular tastes. With historic profiles and a durable, best-in-class Kynar®; finish that looks pristine, but requires virtually no maintenance, homeowners can now choose from a total of nine clad casing profiles and six subsills in 19 clad colors.

"Previously, homeowners and architects could only specify these profiles with wood, which requires maintenance and care. Our new clad casings and subsbill profiles provide a highly customizable, yet low-maintenance way for homeowners and architects to achieve their dreams, mixing and matching several profile combinations to meet their particular taste," said Dan Lang, product planner for Marvin Windows and Doors. "This is another exciting way Marvin is bringing its 'Built around you' philosophy to life."

With a design appeal, the new clad casings and subsills are remarkably durable, featuring extruded aluminum and a Flurospar®; finish, which consists of 70 percent Kynar resin. These qualities make the new clad casing and subsills more resistant to scratches, chalking and fading due to U.V. light. With Marvin's made-to-order manufacturing process, Marvin can perfectly match specifications up to a maximum R.O. width of 144"; R.O. height of 96"; delivering a totally unique and custom quality product.

A compatibility chart for the casings and subsills illustrates the wealth of possible combinations now available to homeowners, which now totals 32 casing and subsill combinations. Also, the new clad casings and subsills are compatible with nearly all clad Marvin Windows and Doors, including replacement products, arch-top doors and bows and bays.

    Additional features include:

  • American Architectural Manufacturing Association (AAMA) 2605-05 specifications with a paint and coating system that is best in class
  • Factory-applied casings, meaning less labor, more consistent joinery details, and more efficient and easy installation
  • An all new subsill End Cap Option will be available for those sills that can be used in non-recessed type construction.
  • Casing end caps come standard on doors with tubular profiled casings, including the Grayson, Columbus, Potter, Flat, and BMC style casing.
