ODL Michael Graves Collection - Classic Sophistication

February 7, 2007 - Zeeland, Mich. - For more than 60 years, ODL, Inc., a Zeeland, Mich.-based building products supplier, has been a leader in the doorglass industry, providing efficient design, fresh insight and smarter options. The ODL Michael Graves Collection of decorative doorglass is no exception, bringing with it a new level of sophistication to the entryways of American homes, according to Laura Garza, product manager.

Timeless and elegant -- the Fleur-de-lis

The ODL Michael Graves Collection features elegantly clean designs inspired by trends in architecture, fashion and housewares. Three styles of decorative doorglass, the Acacia, Vienna and Fleur-de-lis, are available.

"The Acacia style was informed by my interest in the Vienna Secession design movement of the early 20th Century. The abstracted floral motifs connected vertically by parallel lines work well with any home exterior, from contemporary to traditional," says Michael Graves, FAIA. The Acacia style is available in several sizes, including 22 inches by 64 inches; seven inches by 64 inches; 22 inches by 80 inches; eight inches by 80 inches and a rectangular transom.

The Vienna family of decorative dooglass is representative of the cultural awareness prevalent in early 20th Century Viennese art, style and design. In craft movements like Art Nouveau and the Weiner Werkstatte, floral motifs were frequently used as decorative accents which complemented the craftsmanship of their buildings and objects.

"In that same vein, my Vienna design uses the floral motif to accentuate America's entryways," says Graves.

The Vienna family is available in several sizes, including 22 inches by 64 inches; seven inches by 64 inches and a half-round transom.

"The Fleur-de-lis, an historic symbol of aristocracy and class, has been re-imagined in my work with ODL," says Graves. "Timeless and elegant, the Fleur-de-lis will bring elegance to the entryway of any style home for years to come."

The Fleur-de-lis is available in several sizes, including 22 inches by 48 inches; eight inches by 48 inches; 22 inches by 64 inches; seven inches by 64 inches and a segment head transom.

"Working with the Graves Design Group has been such an exciting opportunity for ODL. We're pleased to offer builders and homeowners with three timeless styles designed by one of America's most well-known architects," says Garza.
