Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) foam composition found in GreenGuard® SL Insulation Board provides a high R-value (5.0 per inch of thickness) resulting in increased thermal protection. Compressive strength resistance to moisture absorption also helps deliver excellent thermal performance, while an interlocking shiplap edge virtually eliminates energy-robbing seams and gaps.

GreenGuard® SL Insulation Board maintains its integrity in below-grade and perimeter applications, and the closed-cell structure provides long-term moisture resistance for extreme below-grade and wall system applications. The product may also be used for insulating interior basement walls where a gypsum board or other fire-rated wallboard is used (check local codes).

Available in product thicknesses ranging from 1-2 inches, each 2' x 8' or 4' x 8' section of GreenGuard® SL Insulation Board is tough enough to withstand the rigors of job-site handling, yet its lightweight construction is easy to cut and install. The product also qualifies as an ENERGY STAR product - part of the EPA's Home Sealing effort.
