Peachtree's Citadel Door Offers Energy Efficiency and Peace of Mind

GAINESVILLE, Ga.--Homeowners seek peace of mind when choosing products for their homes. They want products that require minimal maintenance, offer security for their families, and are guaranteed to perform and last. And while they want these practical features, they also want products that will add charm to their homes.

    The Citadel patio door

The Citadel™, Peachtree® Doors & Windows' premium fiberglass patio door, offers this peace of mind. Whether a slider, French or swinger patio door, homeowners will enjoy the Citadel's beauty and elegance, and rest easy knowing the door is one of the most secure and energy efficient available. The Citadel is now available in a four-panel configuration as well as one-, two- and three-wide units for a truly grand entrance.

"The Citadel patio door has been a staple in the Peachtree product line for years," said Peachtree Brand Manager Jeff Kibler. "It's an incredibly reliable patio door that sells itself with its durability, energy performance and options."

Virtually maintenance free, the Citadel has an extruded aluminum clad frame and fiberglass panels with textured oak-grain skins. The prefinished exteriors are available in six standard colors: Classic White, Ivory, Tan, Pebble Tan, Forest Green and Sierra Brown, which are also six of the eight standard colors of Peachtree's 500 Series products. The interior is primed, ready for staining, to bring out the richness and texture of the wood grain finish, or paint in a color of your choice. Fiberglass stain kits are available in six rich colors to match any room.

One of the most-appreciated features of the Citadel is the ultra-heavy-duty extruded aluminum fiberglass mesh screen. The screen's frame is heavier than traditional screens and consistently operates well, according to Kibler.

The Citadel can be ordered with Simulated Divided Lites (SDL) in colors that match the unit's interior and exterior finishes. Grilles-Between-The-Glass (GBG) are available in colors that match the unit's exterior finishes or can be ordered in two-tone combinations. For a most elegant look, beveled glass with brass caming also is available.

Many characteristics of the Citadel add to the door's energy efficiency. The fiberglass panels are 1-3/4" thick and filled with foamed-in polyurethane insulation for six times the energy efficiency of solid wood doors. The glazing is tempered insulated glass, with additional options of Zo-e-shield 6, EasyCare™ Low E2 and argon gas in the airspace. Glass is available in clear, or gray or bronze tint.

The Citadel's sill has a superior drainage system and is thermally broken. The bottom sweep and adjustable oak threshold on the swinger and French models keep the unit weather tight.

All three Citadel models feature an advanced locking system that provides excellent security. The French and swinger models have three reinforced lock points and a metal deadbolt. The slider has two reinforced lock points.
