On-Q/Legrand, manufacturer of home technology, this week added the new LyriQ High Performance Keypad to its whole-house audio system. Officials of the Harrisburg, Pa., company said the keypad was designed to be controlled by a universal remote and housed in a decorator wall plate. As such, it's able control audio in any room of a home.

"On-Q's High Performance Keypad...delivers high-fidelity music in multiple rooms, all controlled from a single enclosure, keeping the home clutter-free," said Daniel Tarkoff, vice president of engineering and product management, in a statement.

The new keypad fits into existing LyriQ systems and works with the traditional LyriQ keypads. Among the keypads features are 40 volume steps for more precise control at both low and high volume; active subwoofer support with 80-Hz, low-pass filter for the true 2.1 multiroom audio; and various integration ports for expansion with other On-Q home systems. The keypad supports 20 watts per channel.

In conjunction with the new product, On-Q/Legrand plans to offer two High Performance Kits for installing a LyriQ Audio System. The kits include a 4x8 multisource module, HP power distribution module, triple- and single-source inputs, power supplies, and universal remotes. They deliver four-source/four-zone or four-source/six-zone audio via four or six High Performance Keypads, respectively.
