Absolute Ablution
Based in Istanbul, Turkey, Vitra takes bathing seriously. They partnered with designer Ross Lovegrove for two new series. Lovegrove's Istanbul is based on the idea of the complete bathing experience at a Turkish Haman. The series features everything needed in the bath and includes toilets, sinks, faucets, shower fixtures, mirrors, furniture pieces, soap dishes, and of course the tub. The circular tub had gently contoured sides that just beg for a long, relaxing soak. The showerhead diverts on water source into six separate heads at different height with adjustable positions. The ceiling mount fixture also incorporates the soft curves of the Istanbul line. Lovegrove also collaborated on Vitra's new MOD line of sustainable fixtures. Besides the typical water conservation found in green bath products, this line goes a step further to make sure production is easy on the planet. Ledges and Bridges
Kohler has introduced the Ledges undercounter bath lav in their cast iron series. Like the name implies, the sink has twin ledges integrated into the sides of the sink creating ideal places to lay a toothbrush or a bar of soap for a mess-free counter. The Ledges sink is shown here in a new enamel color for the cast iron series called Basalt. For the kitchen sink, the new Torq faucet brings a contemporary twist to the classic bridge faucet design. It's Elemental
Dornbracht's new Elemental Spa line of bath faucets is all about delivery. The design focuses on getting the best experience from running water whether it's for the full-body or just the hands. The company studied ways to maximize the look, feel, impact, and sound of the water as it leaves the fixture. The cubist showerhead, bath filler, and lav faucet are meant to play second fiddle to the soothing water flow. Dornbracht, www.dornbracht.com.

Sweet Suites
Villeroy & Boch are introducing several new bath suites in 2007. The suites offer coordinating sinks, tubs, toilets, faucets, and other accessories for a streamlined bathroom look. Known for its classic designs, the company has introduced a couple contemporary series this year. The Cult suite includes this comfortably contoured soaking tub that still maintains sleek lines.
