Dacor Combines Contemporary Styling and Everyday Cooking Convenience New finishes for conventional and unconventional microwave configurations increase installation and design flexibility

LAS VEGAS, May 8, 2007 -- Dacor®, market leader in luxury kitchen appliance design, manufacturing and distribution, today introduced a series of Preference®-style conventional microwaves in six colors as well as additional finish options for the innovative Millennia® Microwave In-A-Drawer, at the 2007 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (K/BIS). The expansion of the brand's microwave offering continues the company's goal of providing consumers with a full line of kitchen appliances from all three of the designer collections; the classic commercial-inspired Epicure® Collection, the contemporary and elegant Millennia Collection and the colorful Preference Collection.

New finishes for conventional and unconventional microwave configurations increase installation and design flexibility.

"Today, the microwave is as important to the kitchen as the refrigerator," said Elaine Chaney, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Dacor, "and many consumers cannot imagine living without the appliance that offers fast-paced families the opportunity to quickly and conveniently prepare exquisite meals that taste as flavorful as if cooked in a traditional oven or reheat last night's treats. However, the microwave has often been an afterthought in kitchen design, forcing consumers to opt for models that may not coordinate with existing appliances or sacrifice valuable counterspace. Dacor wanted to provide consumers with new options and design details that would help integrate the microwave into the overall kitchen layout more easily."

    Details for Everyday Beauty
The Preference Microwave is available as a built-in in six subtle tones: Anthracite Gray, Sterling Gray, Titanium Silver, Blue Water, Slate Green and Black, to coordinate perfectly with the other appliances in the Preference Collection or complement stainless steel for a completely finished look throughout the kitchen.

Featuring an extra-large 2.0 cubic foot interior cavity with a 16" turntable to ensure food is heated evenly, the Preference Microwave includes built-in recipes for an added convenience. With a simple touch of the "15 Minute Dinner" button, users can access any one of the preprogrammed recipes to get a perfectly cooked dinner ready in a snap. On-screen step-by-step instructions provide easy-to-follow directions on how to prepare a variety of delicious meal options from Beef Wraps to Mexican Chicken, in record time.

    Details for Design Flexability
For homeowners who want the flexibility of installing the microwave in an unconventional location that will free up counter space, the revolutionary Millennia Microwave In-A-Drawer is the ideal option. Now available in a solid stainless steel or solid black glass finish " or the original black glass/stainless steel combination to match the Millennia Vertical Wall Oven " the Microwave In-A-Drawer is a sleek alternative to countertop units, with a unique drawer configuration that increases installation flexibility and ease of use.

The unit's innovative design combined with industry-leading technology, provides users with the ultimate cooking experience. The Microwave In-A-Drawer is perfectly engineered for under-thecounter installations, in islands and open-plan kitchens, or as with many other versatile Dacor appliances, can be installed in areas beyond the kitchen " like poolhouses, screening rooms and butler's pantries. The freedom to install the appliance in convenient locations allows users to safely remove contents from the microwave without the risk of spillage because hot containers are not being lifted overhead, but instead the drawer opens out toward the user. The one-touch automatic drawer opening effortlessly opens and closes the interior drawer, taking ease of use one step further. The automatic drawer glides open with the push of a single button, eliminating the need to wrestle with awkward handles.

    Details for Convenience
Both the 1.0 cubic foot Millennia Microwave In-A-Drawer and the conventional Preference Microwave include all of the features and conveniences that have made the microwave a kitchen staple, including preset buttons for popcorn, defrosting and reheating, with additional Sensor cooking modes that automatically detect when food is done and adjust power levels and cooking times accordingly.

When the potential to overheat is suspected by the unit, the Sensor Modes halt the cooking process and alert the user. For complete control that operates without sensors, the user may also program power level and cooking time in three separate modes: Reheat, Defrost and MicroWarm. In addition, each model also includes a safety lock on the control panel that will keep tiny hands from gaining access to the contents of the drawer.

Both the Millennia Microwave In-A-Drawer in solid stainless steel or solid black glass and the Preference Microwave in six colors will be available at authorized Dacor dealers in August 2007.

Beautiful Trim Kits designed to match the overall dimensions of Dacor 27" and 30" wall ovens for a streamlined integrated appearance are available and coordinate with the curved handle design on the Preference Wall Oven, Warming Drawer, Dishwasher and Refrigerator.
