Dacor Introduces New Technology to the Kitchen Redesigned warming drawers and ventilation hoods feature new touch pad technology for easy and safe operation

LAS VEGAS, May 8, 2007 -- Dacor®, market leader in luxury kitchen appliance design, manufacturing and distribution, today debuted a collection of reengineered ventilation hoods and warming drawers with innovative electronic touch controls in Preference®, Millennia®, Epicure® and Integrated styles at the 2007 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (K/BIS). Dacor has redesigned the entire line of warming drawers and ventilation hoods, integrating new technology for more precise control, to regulate time, temperature, speed and humidity. The updated style and function details of the appliances underscore the high-quality craftsmanship and premium performance that has made Dacor an appliance industry leader that offers consumers a full line of kitchen appliances that seamlessly coordinate with almost any décor, for a refined and contemporary appearance.

    The Millennia Ventilation Hood

"Many consumers consider warming drawers and ventilation hoods as secondary appliances, said Elaine Chaney, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Dacor. "Both kitchen designers and homeowners alike often undervalue the importance of having adequate ventilation in the kitchen when cooking or how much a warming drawer can greatly impact a meal. These innovative units play a pivotal role in the life of the kitchen, allowing budding chefs to comfortably enjoy a meal without the lingering odors of dinners past, or wondering if food will still taste perfect when everyone finally sits down to eat."

"Warming drawers are slowly becoming the chef's greatest convenience, as one of the biggest challenges of cooking is timing everything perfectly so the mashed potatoes are still moist and at a ready-to-serve temperature when the roast is complete. This appliance assures each appetizer, entrée or dessert is as flavorful when it hits the table as when it was prepared. In addition, today's ventilation hoods are designed to not only clear the kitchen of smoke and unpleasant odors, so last night's chicken fajitas don't smell like they are on the menu today, but also increase safety by reducing the chances of cooktop fires," continued Chaney.

The Design for Warmth and Preservation
The Preference, Millennia, Epicure and Integrated warming drawers ensure that special occasions as well as everyday meals meet every expectation, preserving taste and keeping food warm at the perfect temperature until ready to serve. A new hidden electronic touchpad provides precise control of a gentle heat ranging from 100 degrees to 200 degrees, for up to four hours, or as long as needed when operating in Sabbath Mode.

With design details including a heating element securely placed in the bottom of the drawer, the new Dacor warming drawers offer increased capacity over previous models with an automatic timer that guarantees each meal will be ready at the desired time. In addition, the moist/crisp function prevents items from getting soggy or drying out, ideal for heating grilled Margherita pizza or a juicy New York strip steak.

In 30" and 27" widths, the artistic Preference warming drawers feature floating glass front panels in six subtle tones - Anthracite Gray, Sterling Gray, Titanium Silver, Blue Water, Slate Green and Black - with a sleek curved handle to match the Preference Discovery Wall Oven or to simply add a splash of color to the kitchen.

The Millennia style warming drawers are available in a contemporary black glass/stainless steel combination in horizontal and vertical configurations to coordinate with both the Millennia and Epicure Discovery Wall Ovens.

The Epicure models are available in 36", 30", 27" and 24" widths in a commercial-inspired stainless steel finish with an elliptical handle in four trim color options of chrome, brass, copper and black chrome. Homeowners who prefer a fully-integrated finish can select the Integrated style in 27" or 24" and attach a custom panel to the front that matches existing cabinetry for a seamless look. The Design for Better Indoor Air Quality
The Millennia, Epicure and Integrated ventilation hoods combine luxury styling and world-class performance to quietly and efficiently improve the indoor air quality of the kitchen by removing steam, grease and cooking odors, whether it's spicy scallop stir fry or freshly made garlic bread. Each model features the ground-breaking hidden electronic touchpad that provides complete control over the variable speed fans and halogen lighting that spotlights the cooking area below. When operating in Heat Sensor Mode, the ventilation hoods will automatically start and adjust speed based on ambient temperatures, ideal for cooktops and ranges that provide a high-heat output. In addition, the cleaning indicator light alerts users when it is time to change the filter.

Installation of the Millennia, Epicure and Integrated ventilation hoods into over-head cabinetry is simple and creates the perfect decorative complement to any range or cooktop. Hand-crafted of heavy easy-to-clean stainless steel, the ventilation hoods provide a flawless design with internal or remote mounted blower units.

The Millennia ventilation hood is also available in 18" and 12" heights and three width options for a sleek and contemporary stainless steel solution to removing unpleasant odors from the kitchen.

The commercial-inspired Epicure ventilation hood is available in 18" and 12" heights and five width options to provide superior air cleaning performance. Four bull-nose trim color finishes, coordinate with the classic elliptical Epicure handle in chrome, brass, copper and black chrome, and give homeowners a professional look throughout the kitchen. The Integrated style ventilation hood is available in two width options and can be fit with a custom canopy hood, for remarkable installation flexibility.

The new Dacor ventilation hoods and warming drawers will be available at authorized Dacor dealers in August 2007.
