Munters New ProDry Series Desiccant Reduces Humidity, Improves Indoor Air Quality for Construction Applications

A desiccant dehumidifier developed specifically for the construction industry is now available from Munters Moisture Control Services (MCS). Called the ProDry dehumidifier, the unit is designed to significantly reduce humidity levels and improve indoor air quality in commercial industrial construction applications. "All materials inside structures under construction absorb moisture, and unless that moisture is reduced to acceptable tolerances, the condition can delay the scheduled timetable or, even worse, lead to the formation of mold," said Russ Brown, national sales manager, construction services, for MCS. "This unit features high capacity blowers for faster drying times and improved indoor air quality in even the toughest of environments."

Installation of the dehumidifier is simple. The ProDry is placed close to a wall and ducting around the unit is minimal. The system operates by taking reactivation air from the room and venting it outside.

The unit is configured to use 30 amps of single phase power and can operate off a residential dryer outlet or range plug. It also can run off the temporary power or electrical "spider boxes" typically used on construction sites.

Other features of the ProDry Series include:
    * Small footprint for portability; fits through a standard 30-inch door
    * Purge design for high performance
    * Process air with 2.5-inch ESP and 80 degrees Fahrenheit entering air
    * Reactivation air with 2.5-inch and 110 degrees Fahrenheit leaving air
    * Fully-welded construction suitable for outdoor installation
