New CertainTeed Composite Decking Features Rich Color Choices and an Embossed Woodgrain Surface

(Valley Forge, Pennsylvania) - CertainTeed Corporation pairs the strength of its core Boardwalk® composite decking technology with a unique weatherable cap to create a new line of composite decking with deeper, richer colors and a new natural wood texture. The new line, Boardwalk® Signature HFS™ (Hidden Fastener System) is available in Chestnut, Cedar and Redwood.

Boardwalk Signature HFS

Like other Boardwalk products, Signature HFS features the strength and durability of CertainTeed's patented EcoTech™ material. EcoTech consists of a unique blend of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a weatherable polymer, and recycled natural fibers to provide a reliable, even-textured product for greater strength and consistent appearance. The Signature HFS plank is topped with a PVC and acrylic-styrene-acrylonitrile (ASA) resin formulation cap to create a high-performance decking surface with a natural wood appearance. This specially formulated surface provides excellent scratch, stain and fade resistance.

The exclusive HFS system provides a visually uninterrupted fastener-free deck surface that is fast and easy to install. The HFS Clips are applied to the top of the joists so there is no working under the deck and only one clip and screw is needed per joist. The Boardwalk Signature HFS product line includes a 2- by 6-foot plank and fascia and features the CleanSweep™ Surface for easy care and maintenance.

With the introduction of Boardwalk Signature HFS, CertainTeed expands its total Boardwalk product offering and has renamed its original Boardwalk products to Boardwalk Classic™. Boardwalk Classic™ includes the reversible 5/4- by 6-foot plank, brushed finish HFS plank, the 2- by 6-foot plank, fascia and an assortment of railing accessories.

All Boardwalk products are impervious to termite infestation and won't rot, decay, splinter or crack. The weather-resistant system is backed by a 25-year limited transferable warranty and comes with CertainTeed's exclusive SureStart™ coverage that covers the product and labor in the unlikely event a manufacturing defect occurs within two years following installation.
