Little Giant Shines in the Long Haul

    By Bob Kocher

With the cost of fuel hitting everybody's pocket, downsizing is fast becoming an everyday way of life. But we'd all like to be able to haul a load of cargo from time to time, anything from a load of mulch for our home landscaping to a new 60-inch flat-screen TV for the family room.

Do we still need a gas-guzzling pickup truck to do the work? Remember, there is always more than one way to skin a cat.

The solution might be a pickup bed in a box that you can attach to your good-gas-mileage small- or mid-sized vehicle.

Let's Go Aero (LGA), a gear management solution company, recently introduced the Little Giant Trailer, best described as a "pickup bed in a box." It's a bolt-together utility trailer kit featuring a box truss bed design that replicates the form and function of a mid- size pickup truck bed. The Little Giant offers all the utility and function of a pickup bed, at 97 percent less money than the cost of a new pickup.

"When you look at all the pickup beds that get converted into trailers after the pickup's useful life has ended, and you consider that more than 2.5 million new pickups a year are sold, there is just something great about the utility of a pickup bed," said Marty Williams, president of Let's Go Aero.

"With gas prices and new vehicle prices so high, using the pickup bed in a box has all the function and utility of a mid-size pickup bed for under $1,000. We see a lot of consumer value in that."

The Little Giant Trailer measures 86-inches in length, 54-inches in width and 24-inches in height and is load rated up to 1,500 pounds of cargo. The kit's engineered plywood shipping crate panels transform into the assembled trailer's floor and side paneling.

Once assembled, LGT offers all the cargo bed space of a Chevrolet S-10 or Ford Ranger pickup bed.

TheLittle Giant Trailer weighs only 300 pounds. It has two-foot sidewalls and removable end gates. It may be pulled with any tow- rated vehicle. Its high sidewalls and attachment capabilities provide optimal support of cargo.

This little hauler looks like a winner. You can haul that small load whenever you want. Because it's so light and small, you can store it just about anywhere.

Maybe it's time to sell that fuel-eating truck and replace it with a Little Giant. At least check it out and have a safe haul.
