Tilt-Up Construction Growing in Popularity for Good Reasons

    By Anonymous

What is tilt-up? Tilt-up construction is a construction technique of casting reinforced concrete panels on-site, and then tilting the panels into position. The tilt-up process is a faster and more economical method of construction, and consequently has been increasing in popularity over the past decades. In fact, tilt-up construction is one of the fastest growing industries in the United States. At least 10,000 buildings enclosing more than 650 million square feet are constructed annually. The tilt-up construction method continues to grow for several reasons: speed of construction, advances in architectural treatments and adaptability to markets such as schools, retail centers, medical buildings and office buildings. Plus, patterns or texture can easily be added to the face of tilt-up panels. It is popular to paint after imparting a pattern or texture to the face of tilt-up panels using reveal strips. Other finishes include exposed aggregate, sandblasted, and brick or stone facings The Advantages of Tilt-Up
